Having a broken tooth is never fun. If you’re interested in a dental implants, but you dislike the idea of a gap in your smile, we can help. Here at Complex Smile we can perform immediate implantation, so you won’t have to be without a tooth at any point throughout your treatment journey.

Immediate dental implant placement: the procedure

Immediate implantation allows patients with a problem tooth to leave the practice having had their tooth removed, and their implant configured. With immediate loading, patients can expect a reduction in overall treatment time, reduced soft and hard tissue loss and fewer surgical interventions.

All of these benefits combined make for satisfied patients, who are always genuinely surprised at how streamlined getting an implant can be. Immediate implantation is possible in circumstances where there is enough healthy jawbone for us to use as a foundation to place the implant. Should we need to build up sufficient healthy bone, we can perform a bone graft in order to achieve this.

You can expect the following steps if your tooth needs to first be extracted before treatment.

Procedure

Step 1

Examination

An in-depth examination of your mouth is performed, so we can establish a picture of your oral and dental health. We will take X-rays, digital photos, digital impressions (moulds of your teeth) taken using our cutting-edge intraoral scanner and measurements and use this diagnostic information to inform your unique implant journey.

Step 2

Surgery

under local anaesthetic, we will carefully place the implant into the jawbone, immediately after the problem tooth has been extracted, reducing the overall healing time. Over a 3 month period, the jawbone grows around the implant, accepting it as a new entity that forms part of the body. As well as placing an abutment, which will connect your new bespoke crown to your implant, you’ll be given a temporary crown created before surgery. So you won’t have to endure the 3 months healing time with a missing tooth. We’ll spend the implant healing period designing your permanent crown, creating it to be suited to your unique dental and facial anatomy.

An innovative approach to immediate implantation at Complex Smile

To deliver the best possible experience for patients, we’ve invested in an intraoral scanner medit i700, which takes digital impressions of your teeth, as opposed to manual (and very often unpleasant!) impressions of your teeth. This technology takes a simple scan and completely non-invasive, as opposed to the sticky mass that’s used when a traditional impression is taken.

Using state-of-the-art R2Gate Digital Dentistry software, we’re able to carefully plan your surgery in advance. By creating and fixing a special custom made guide, we’re able to see exactly where to place your implant for the most successful outcome.

Not only does this help patients to feel relaxed about their treatment, in many cases we don’t need to perform any incisions or stitches. Meanwhile, the traditional method of placing implants would involve an incision, heightening the risk of complications and making the whole process more invasive for patients. Once completed, patients won’t need to come in for a follow up appointment, as there’s no need for the removal of sutures.

Amazing dental clinic starting from receptionist and finishing with Dr. Karolina Kraujelytė, she’s done amazing job literally saving the tooth which likely needed to be extracted, can’t thank enough. I came at complex smile for just one implant after checking 3 different clinics.. I had an absolutely great experience. I have chosen Complex smile because the specialist goes straight to the point, no one in the clinic is wasting their time about trying to sell you treatment you didn't come for. Even when I had an emergency 2 days before Christmas the specialist did everything to see me at the clinic despite he was on holidays. I live now on the other side of the city but I will keep them for my regular hygiene check. Thank you so much for everything, I can finally now eat normally !
